January is coming and you know what that means? Resolution time. I’ve never been one for resolutions. Well, not before, anyway.
This year, though, I’ll be turning 30. Instead of wallowing in thoughts about my mortality, I’m committed to pushing myself to learn and experience even more of what life has to offer before it’s over.
Because of that, I will be making resolutions this year. To keep me focused. To keep me on track. To keep me achieving.
The first resolution i’m calling No Vice January. All of January i will be giving up my vices. I will go to bed early, stay hydrated, work out regularly (3x a week min) and not drink any booze. I will get into weightlifting and know what all of the machines in the gym do and how to use them. I will feed my body healthy, organic, balanced meals made with love.
I will give myself the greatest new years gift: a chance to detox.
The second resolution I have is getting a specific certification for work.
The third resolution is to plan my trip for my 30th birthday. I’m not 100% on the destination yet. Suggestions welcome.
My fourth resolution is to do yoga at least once a week for mental clarity and stretching.
I’ll be doing a 10 minute jogging warmup on the treadmill, weights (heavier than the ones I have at home, yay!), abs, lunges, cool down with a 10 minute walk and then find my way into the jacuzzi and sauna.
I can’t wait to do yoga tonight! Chippy is gonna join me, too. Then I’ll be making my amazing low calorie chili for dinner. Mmmm.
The recipe is on my recipe page, if you’re interested!!
Also, I was asked to join my co-workers for a burger & fries lunch tomorrow. I smartly declined after looking online and seeing their pathetic excuse for salads. No thanks! I’d rather enjoy my leftover chili than suffer through a boring salad.
Tonight Union Station was closed. Abruptly. Unexpectedly.
That meant I had to do a LOT of walking. Walking to the subway station only to find out that I couldn’t take the train. Walking to find a bus. Oops, wrong bus. More walking. Briskly. Gotta make it to the right bus on time. Rushing, rushing… Phew!
Then, after getting on and off the right bus, it was another half mile to the train station because I got off at the wrong spot. Whoops.
So THAT is my workout tonight. I’m pooped and fully intend to do some stretching and then I’m calling it a night.
Accidently double booking and then hurting feelings (I’m sorry, mom!)
Sun setting too early
Christmas tree lights not working (need I say more?)
The spacebar being.too.close.to.the period button on my Android and then.that happens.
I CAN’T WAIT TO GO HOME AND DO YOGA!!!!
Day 4 of the 7DayChallenge is a welcomed workout since I really need to release this stress!
